10 Duas to Memorize in Ramadan 2025

Ramadan is a sacred month of fasting, reflection, and devotion for Muslims worldwide. It is a time to increase spiritual awareness, seek forgiveness, and build a closer connection to Allah (SWT).

One of Ramadan’s most important acts of worship is making du’a (supplication). Duas directly link to Allah, allowing believers to ask for blessings, guidance, and forgiveness.

Memorizing specific duas during the last 10 of Ramadan can help maximize the spiritual benefits of this blessed month. In this article, we’ll explore 10 essential duas to memorize and their significance.

The Importance of Duas in Ramadan

During Ramadan, the gates of mercy are open, and Allah’s blessings are abundant. Duas in this month is a way to seek Allah’s favor and a means of personal reflection and growth. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) emphasized the power of dua, particularly in this blessed month when Allah is especially responsive to the prayers of believers.

Duas said fasting while breaking the fast and during special nights like Laylat al-Qadr (Night of Power) are particularly impactful.

1. Dua for Beginning the Fast (Suhoor)

Before starting the fast at dawn (suhoor), it is recommended that you make a dua and seek Allah’s assistance and acceptance for the fast.

Translation: “I intend to fast today to fulfill the obligation of Ramadan.”

This intention (niyyah) is essential as it transforms a daily act of abstaining from food and drink into a spiritual act of worship. It helps Muslims start their day with a focused mindset and purpose.

2. Dua for Breaking the Fast (Iftar)

The moment of breaking the fast at iftar is deeply spiritual. It is a time when Allah accepts the dua of those fasting.

Translation: “O Allah, I fasted for You, and I believe in You, and I put my trust in You, and with Your sustenance, I break my fast.”

Breaking the fast with this dua reflects gratitude to Allah for granting strength throughout the day and for the sustenance provided.

3. Dua for Seeking Forgiveness (Laylat al-Qadr)

Laylat al-Qadr, or the Night of Power, is the holiest night of Ramadan, where worship is considered more valuable than a thousand months. Aisha (RA), the wife of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), asked what to say if one knows it is Laylat al-Qadr, and the Prophet (PBUH) taught her this dua:

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ العَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي

Translation: “O Allah, You are the Forgiver, You love to forgive, so forgive me.”

This simple yet powerful dua is a heartfelt plea for Allah’s forgiveness, encapsulating the essence of Ramadan.

4. Dua for Guidance and Righteousness

One of the most vital aspects of Ramadan is seeking guidance and righteousness from Allah. A beautiful dua that can be recited is:

اللهم أرنا الحق حقاً وارزقنا اتباعه وأرنا الباطل باطلاً وارزقنا اجتنابه

Translation: “O Allah, show me the truth as the truth and grant me the ability to follow it, and show me falsehood as falsehood and grant me the ability to avoid it.”

This dua helps ensure that believers remain on the righteous path, distinguishing between right and wrong, which is especially crucial during the spiritual reflection of Ramadan.

5. Dua for Good in This Life and the Hereafter

This well-known dua is found in the Qur’an and is a balanced supplication asking for goodness both in this world and in the Hereafter:

رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ

Translation: “Our Lord! Give us in this world that which is good and in the Hereafter that which is good, and save us from the punishment of the Fire.”

This dua reminds Muslims to seek worldly and spiritual success while focusing on the ultimate goal: salvation in the Hereafter.

6. Dua for Increase in Knowledge

Ramadan is a time for self-improvement, and part of that includes increasing one’s knowledge. The Qur’an encourages Muslims to ask for more knowledge:

رَبِّ زِدْنِي عِلْمًا

Translation: “My Lord, increase me in knowledge.”

Knowledge is a light source in Islam, and this dua encourages constant learning, reflection, and growth, especially in religious matters during the holy month.

7. Dua for Protection from Calamities

Ramadan is a time to seek Allah’s protection from difficulties and calamities. A powerful dua for this is:

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الفِتَنِ مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا وَمَا بَطَنَ

Translation: “O Allah, I seek refuge in You from trials and tribulations, visible and hidden.”

This dua is essential in asking for Allah’s protection from both the seen and unseen hardships of life, especially in uncertain times.

8. Dua for Strengthening Faith

As Ramadan progresses, maintaining faith and spiritual energy can be challenging. This dua asks for steadfastness in belief:

رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغْ قُلُوبَنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَيْتَنَا وَهَبْ لَنَا مِنْ لَدُنْكَ رَحْمَةً

Translation: “Our Lord, let not our hearts deviate after You have guided us and grant us from Yourself mercy.”

Seeking constant guidance ensures one remains firm in faith and committed to righteous deeds, even when faced with challenges.

9. Dua for Family and Righteous Offspring

The well-being of family members is paramount in Islam, and Ramadan is an ideal time to pray for them:

رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْوَاجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّاتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعْيُنٍ وَاجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا

Translation: “Our Lord, grant us from our wives and offspring the comfort of our eyes and make us an example for the righteous.”

This dua emphasizes the importance of family and asks Allah to grant holiness and righteousness to one’s descendants.

10. Dua for Repentance

Ramadan is the month of mercy, and seeking repentance is central to this time. A simple yet powerful dua is:

رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَتُبْ عَلَيَّ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ

Translation: “O my Lord, forgive me and accept my repentance, for You are the Forgiving and the Merciful.”

This dua allows believers to ask for Allah’s mercy, seeking forgiveness for past mistakes and shortcomings.

Conclusion

Ramadan is about fasting and deepening one’s connection with Allah through worship and supplication. Memorizing these 10 essential duas during the blessed month of Ramadan provides a spiritual roadmap for seeking forgiveness, guidance, and blessings from Allah.
