People helping people
Muslim Food Bank and Community Services Society (“MFBCS”) is a community based charitable organization that provides food assistance and advocates self-reliance by providing case management, counselling, emotional support, youth development and capacity building. Through case management and counselling, MFBCS recognizes the challenges that clients face in supporting themselves and helps them overcome these challenges by focusing on six core areas: Food Insecurity, Employment, Housing, Education, Skills Development and Mental Health Support. Since 2010, we have transformed lives and empowered people to become self-reliant, and who in turn have joined us to help others. Our vision is to live in a world where humanity is driven by compassion and love, where people help each other to become self-reliant so that they can in turn help everyone in their challenges.
MFBCS’s approach to dealing with the needs of people is simple yet has a massive impact. We make charitable giving to help those in need, achievable and rewarding, ensuring everyone can help those in need by donating or contributing knowledge or skills. MFBCS has one of the fastest-growing volunteer base in Canada.
MFBCS is a non-profit, charitable organization. The organization was incorporated under the Society Act at Victoria, British Columbia on July 6, 2010. The Charitable Business Number is 80072 0864 RR0001.
